Relojazul "Whoa, whoa, whoa." The kid smiles and shakes his head. "It's a long way off, and we're not exactly equipped to go out there. Don't you want to hear the details first?"
(from this point on, we'll call this kid Jonton; or "Jon" for short)
Jon stops, assuming you want to hear the details. "I got this chunk of papers off some kobold traders that just left town. Said they found it in some little metal can or something." He shows you a few dozen pages of paper, which look to have been ripped out of book of some sort, all hand-written. It's in a language you don't understand.
"Looks like this place is way far out to the North. I mean, I can't read the writing, I can't even tell what language it's in. But it's a long ways to go. And it's even more dangerous there than it is here, outside those walls." He gestures to the all-too-familiar city walls.
Now, at this point, you should know from reading the main thread that it's perilous to go outside. Especially after dark. There's "dirty water" to contend with--water contaminated with radiation. There's also acid rain, terrible stuff so potent that it'll dissolve a person beyond recognition in just a few minutes. And besides the wild animals, there's also the Dark Ones: terrible, vicious creatures that come out only at night and will kill even the strongest of warriors.
In other words, getting to this place is going to require finding people that are capable of surviving in the wild. Adventurers, people who have the ability to purify water, find food, and protect you from the perils of the wilderness.
